Location: Victoria

Overview  Advanced Dev Ops & Automation Engineer - American Football at EA SPORTS. This role focuses on automation, scalability, and reliability to support large-scale, connected game experiences (Madden, College Football, and new projects).
Hybrid onsite presence is required in Victoria, BC;
Orlando, FL; or Madrid, ES.
Responsibilities   Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for game clients, backend services, and tools using Python, C#, Groovy, C++, and more.
Automate build, deployment, and environment management processes across Dev, Staging, and Production.
Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation).
Monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues affecting build stability, uptime, and environment health.
Collaborate with gameplay, backend, and tools engineers to identify and eliminate workflow bottlenecks.
Manage version control integrations and branch strategies to ensure stable and consistent release cycles.
Implement monitoring, observability, and alerting solutions to ensure proactive service reliability.
Drive continuous improvement in deployment practices, including test automation, rollback strategies, and release governance.
Contribute to defining and tracking engineering KPIs (e.g., build success rate, environment uptime, MTTR).
Champion Dev Ops best practices across the studio and promote modern, automated workflows.
Foster a strong testing culture by promoting best practices, mentoring team members, and driving consistent adoption of effective testing methodologies.
Qualifications   7+ years of professional software development or Dev Ops engineering experience.
5+ years of experience with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or Git Hub Actions).
3+ years of experience developing automation for large-scale or live-service environments.
Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Power Shell.

Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure; multi-cloud preferred).
Hands-on experience with IaC frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation).

Experience with Perforce and/or Git workflows.
Experience building and maintaining monitoring/alerting systems (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Cloud Watch).
Strong understanding of networking, security practices, and environment isolation.
Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills in a collaborative environment.
A passion for automation, developer enablement, and building reliable systems that scale.
Bonus   Knowledge of Unreal Engine, Frostbite, or other large-scale game engines and build systems.

Experience with artifact management, distributed caching, and CI parallelization.
Familiarity with secure software development practices (secrets management, automated security scanning).
Experience supporting game or real-time service build pipelines for console and PC platforms.
Interest in mentoring engineers and driving continuous improvement in automation and Dev Ops processes.
Desire for continual learning and career growth.
Compensation And Benefits  The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs.
Pay Ranges   British Columbia (depending on location, e.g., Vancouver vs. Victoria): CAD 119,
