Valet/Welcome Ambassador

This position will work shifts both as a Welcome Ambassador and Valet. It is available year-round, as well as for seasonal terms and co-op/internship placements (May - October).

The Welcome Ambassador is responsible for controlling and guiding the arrival process for guests and staff at the Inn’s entrances; ensuring only authorized guests and staff are on property, and to coordinate with various areas of the hotel to ensure public area occupancies are maintained.

Valets work with our Chief Concierge, in assisting our guests and ensuring their experience at the Wickaninnish Inn is all it can be. Valets are responsible for greeting each and every guest upon arrival, operating our shuttle and introducing guests to the Guest Services Representative Team for Check-in.

As a Valet/Welcome Ambassador you will:

  • Ensure efficient and personalized guest service meeting and exceeding Relais & Chateaux and AAA 4 & 5 Diamond Standards.
  • Welcome, control, and guide the arrival process for guests and staff at the Inn’s entrances.
  • Radio coordination with other areas of the hotel.
  • Maintain required documentation for arrivals.

  • Clear, effective radio communication.
  • The ability to work AM and PM shifts
  • The ability to work outdoors, standing for long periods of time.
  • Sound judgement and ability to work alone.
  • A professional and groomed appearance is required.
  • The flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • A familiarity with services and activities offered in Tofino, Ucluelet and Vancouver Island.
  • A valid BC Class 5 Driver's License. Applicants must be eligible for a BC Class 5 driver’s license and have a minimum of two years of clean driving experience in their home country.
  • The ability to carry and transfer up to 40lbs.
  • The ability to drive both standard/manual and automatic vehicles.
  • The desire and ability to "sweat the small stuff".

    • A mutual understanding of your employment duration will be determined during your interview

    Salary/Wage:$19.00 per hour as Valet and $20.00 per hour as Welcome Ambassador.

    Financial incentives available based on length of commitment.
