Personal Care Workers

You will need to remain calm during hectic and changing situations. Our PCW’s experience a fast-paced environment where the needs of our clients change throughout the day. The Licensed Group Home is responsible for providing guidance, support and supervision for individuals with Cognitive, Mental and Physical Disabilities that require 24/7 care.

Working 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule, Personal Care Workers support and supervise individuals with physical abilities; use a team approach to plan, organize and supervise daily activities; prepare and serve meals as planned; administer prescribed medications.

• Support and supervise individuals with physical disabilities;
• Use a team approach to plan, organize and supervise daily activities, recreational and other services;
• Prepare and serve meals as planned;
• Assess needs of residents on an ongoing basis;
• Maintain sanitation of Group Home;
• 12‑hour shift with rotating schedule;
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor;

Suitable candidates will have a minimum Grade 12;
Personal Care Worker, Continuing Care Aide or Home Health Aide Certificate or equivalent is preferred;
Certified First Aide & CPR and Safe Food Handling Certificate required or willing to obtain;
Previous home care or childcare experience is an preferred;
Experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset;
Valid Driver’s License preferred. Combination of Education and Experience may be considered; on the job training will be provided.
