The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Woodland Wellness Centre is inviting applications for the following Full-Time Term position (Leave Coverage from October 13, to May 22, ) based out of La Ronge, SK
:

Wellness Worker – Treatment

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

  • Provide group facilitation healing sessions to the participants who are in treatment;
  • Encourage participants to engage in group healing sessions;
  • Observe participants and refer to one-on-one counselling as needed;
  • Plan and administer culturally relevant and holistic treatment to participants in group healing sessions;
  • Monitor participant’s treatment progress and monitor their mental status;
  • Aid participants in maintaining mental health stability;
  • Complete annual training required such as crisis intervention training;
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to participants and treatment plans at all times;
  • Act as a participant advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations;
  • Provide one-on-one counselling to participants;
  • Work with the Treatment Supervisor to develop healing sessions.
  • Availability for rotation of being on call for treatment needs.
  • The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-year diploma in;
    Chemical Dependency or Mental Health and Wellness;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience would be considered an asset;
  • Excellent time management and prioritizing skills;
  • Ability to provide Trauma informed Care
  • Possess conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent communication skills when interacting with professionals or participants;
  • Ability to complete reports and communicate effectively through correspondence and procedure manuals;
  • Ability to define problems, gather data, maintain confidentiality, organize facts, and make valid conclusions;
  • High level of sound and independent judgement, reasoning, and discretion;
  • Must be able to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, & SGI Driver Abstract.
