The Junior Finance Officer will be responsible for the provision of specialized administration, accounting and financial services for LLRIB Health Services. About the position: The Junior Finance Officer will process transactions for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledgers. They will also facilitate financial reporting and analysis in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. They will perform and maintain month end and year end Accounting Cycles and financial records to ensure accountability of all expenditures and revenues.

Duties:

  • Responsible for the provision of a broad range of specialized administrative, accounting and financial services, including accounts receivable, payables and Payroll;
  • Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements using ACCPAC system;
  • Code, total, batch, enter, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable & receivables, Payroll, purchase orders, Cheques, invoices and Cheque requisitions;
  • Maintain records of employee attendance, leave and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements;
  • Prepare & verify statements of earning for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, insurance and pension plans;
  • Prepare employee payments and benefit payments by electronic transfer or by Cheque;
  • Complete, verify and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits;
  • Medical Transportation Record System (MTRS) paying bills, invoices for meals and accommodations.
  • Qualifications: Diploma in Business Administration or related field, 3 years’ experience preferred. Knowledge of ACCPAC Software is an asset;
    Must be able & willing to train on the job. Clear understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Excellent Computer and Communication Skills;
    Certified First Aide & CPR required or willing to obtain;
    Experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset;
    Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license
