Senior Occupational Hygienist

Location: Saanich East

Island EHS is a Victoria based occupational hygiene consulting company. We provide services to a variety of clients including:

School Districts

Universities

Ship repair facilities

Developers

Abatement contractors

We have an immediate need for a senior occupational hygienist. Responsibilities include the following:

Carry out sampling services for clients, including air quality and occupational hygiene work

Confined space assessments

Fungal investigations

Writing work procedures

Developing Exposure control plans

Infection control consulting

Training

Hazardous materials investigations

Maintaining appropriate records for all aspects of the business

Ability to develop sampling strategies and complete work in a timely fashion

Experience in the following areas will be beneficial:

Confined space assessments

Indoor air quality assessments

Infection control

Hazardous material surveys

Final visual inspections and hazmat clearance reports

The successful candidate will have previous industrial hygiene experience, hazardous material investigation experience or a combination of Occupational Health and Safety/Hygiene education. A CIH, ROH or CRSP designation is not required but would be an asset. In addition, we require:

Excellent time management

Good client relations

Attention to detail

Organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Technical writing skills

A valid driver's license and the use of your own vehicle
