About Island Gold District
Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold District’s Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the mine engineering EIT will be involved in every facet within the engineering department for the first 24 months, followed by an underground internship of 12 months. This full time position for newly graduated engineers will lead to a role in the engineering or mine department upon completion of the 36 month program.

The schedule for this position is based in a camp operation working on an 14‑14 rotation schedule with flights provided from Sudbury, Toronto and Rouyn‑Noranda.

Qualifications

Graduate BSc in Mining Engineering

Previous experience in an underground operation would be highly regarded.

Underground Common Core modules would be seen as an asset.

The individual should have demonstrated a high level of energy, self‑motivation and strong organizational skills.

Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced, growing work environment.

The incumbent will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Deswik, Autocad and Promine is required.
