Location: Eastern Passage

A leading North American manufacturer of engineered polyethylene films is seeking a technical sales professional to manage and grow business exclusively within converters serving the food packaging market.
This role is focused on selling film to converters that are printing, laminating, and applying adhesives to flexible packaging structures before supplying finished materials to food packaging companies.
Success in this role requires a strong understanding of how film performs in downstream converting processes — particularly printing and adhesive lamination.

Position Overview
The National Sales Manager will drive sales growth by partnering with flexible packaging converters that:
Print on polyethylene and multilayer films
Apply solvent-based or solventless adhesives
Laminate film structures
Manufacture finished flexible packaging for food brands
The individual must be capable of engaging in technical discussions related to:
Ink adhesion and surface treatment (corona, dyne levels)
Adhesive compatibility and bond strength
Seal integrity after lamination
Film structure optimization for printability and machinability
Barrier and performance requirements for food applications
This is a consultative technical sales role — not a commodity transaction-based position.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting flexible packaging converters
Identify new opportunities within print and lamination-focused converting operations
Provide technical guidance on Surface energy and print performance, Adhesive bonding characteristics, Film-to-film compatibility, Structure design for food packaging applications, Troubleshooting lamination or print performance issues
Work closely with converter engineering, production, and procurement teams
Collaborate internally with technical and manufacturing groups to deliver custom solutions
Manage pricing strategy, forecasting, and margin performance
Travel regularly within Canada
Required Experience & Qualifications
5+ years of technical sales experience in one or more of the following:
Flexible Packaging Films, Adhesives For Lamination, Printing Inks For Plastic Films, Extrusion Lamination, Multilayer Film Structures
Direct experience working with flexible packaging converters
Strong understanding of:
Surface treatment (corona/plasma), Dyne levels and print adhesion, Solvent-based and solventless adhesive systems, Lamination processes
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues at converter facilities
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Packaging, Polymer Science, or a related technical discipline.
Ability to travel up to 40% across Eastern Canada
Ideal Backgrounds

Adhesive or ink sales professionals servicing film converters
Packaging engineers with hands-on lamination and print experience transitioning into sales
Technical sales professionals in extrusion or specialty films
