Electrical Engineer; Naval​/Marine

Position: Electrical Engineer (Naval/Marine)
Location: Victoria

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (electrical or electronics engineering preferred)

8+ years of electrical or electronics engineering experience

Experience on working on electronics systems such as alternating current systems (AC systems) and power distribution control systems

Experience designing, reviewing and troubleshooting electrical systems

Experience working on the electrical aspect of systems such as:
Above Water Sensors, Sonar, Command and Control, Navigation, or Communication systems is required

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Naval industry or background

Experience working on submarines or ships

New construction commissioning or retro-commissioning, an asset

Job Summary
Insight Global is looking to bring on a Electrical Engineer for a naval client. The ideal candidate would be responsible for providing senior-level electrical and electronics engineering expertise for submarine systems, with a focus on marine AC power and power distribution. You will approve system designs, supports integration of sensors, sonar, navigation, communications, and command-and-control systems, and leads troubleshooting of complex technical issues.

You will provide technical oversight and mentorship to other engineers, ensure compliance with naval and safety standards, and support commissioning and testing activities for new or upgraded submarines, including dockside and sea trials as required. The candidate is required to work onsite in Victoria, BC 5x a week.
