Location: Fort St. James

We are seeking a Metallurgist to join our Mill Process Operations team at Mount Milligan. In this role, you will provide technical support and leadership to the mill operations group, focusing on optimizing plant performance and ensuring safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and site safety policies; actively participate in safety meetings.
  • Monitor and report on concentrator performance.
  • Identify sources of variability and recommend improvements to enhance plant stability and efficiency.
  • Conduct investigations, test work, and technical projects.
  • Prepare reports and communicate findings to the Mill Operations team.
  • Participate in equipment inspections and recommend service life improvements.
  • Manage small to medium-sized projects with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and provide guidance when needed.
  • Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Mineral Processing, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with EGBC.
  • 2–10 years of experience in mineral processing, preferably with comminution and copper/gold flotation.
  • Strong statistical analysis, presentation, and technical report writing skills.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • Strong understanding of copper/gold milling processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze problems, prioritize issues, and develop cost-effective solutions.
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Working Conditions

  • Remote mine site.
  • 12-hour shifts on a 14/14 rotation.
  • Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.
