Sessional Lecturer PSY
397H5 S - Neuroplasticity and Behaviour

An examination of experimental findings and theory documenting the plasticity of the brain and its relationship to behaviour. The course will discuss the molecular, synaptic, cellular and circuitry components of neural plasticity in relation to learning and experience.

  • Sessional Lecturer I: $9,820.70
  • Sessional Lecturer I - Long Term: $10,510.04

  • Sessional Lecturer II - Long Term: $10,760.28
  • Sessional Lecturer III: $10,760.28
  • Sessional Lecturer III - Long Term: $11,030.36

Stipend rates are inclusive of vacation pay. Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Qualifications

The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree or be in the final stages of a Ph.D. The decision on hiring will be based on previous teaching experience in this course or other similar courses, academic qualifications and suitability for the position.

Description of Duties
  • Preparation and delivery of course content
  • Creation of course material, development and administration of assignments, tests and examinations
  • Supervision of teaching assistants for leading tutorials, grading and marking student work
  • Submission of final grades to appropriate University officials in accordance with policy
  • Maintenance of reasonable hours for student contact outside of scheduled contact hours
