The Department of Medicine hael’s Hospital, in conjunction with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, is seeking a qualified full‑time academic neuromuscular specialist. The successful candidate must be eligible for a Full‑time Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant, or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. The candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician Teacher (CT).
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing patient care in a busy ambulatory EMG and neuromuscular clinic.
- Diagnosing and managing the full spectrum of neuromuscular disease, with an interest in myasthenia gravis welcomed.
- Participating in general neurology call and ward duties proportionally to peers.
- Leading or participating in educational programs at SMH‑UHT and the University of Toronto, including potential residency site director role for 2‑4 years.
- Engaging in clinical research, education, and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications:
- MD degree.
- Certification in Neurology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- Minimum 1–2 years of neuromuscular fellowship; interest in a busy ambulatory EMG and neuromuscular clinic preferred.
- Demonstrated scholarship and clinical academics experience.
- Eligible for Full‑time Clinical Academic appointment at U of T.
Expected start date:
July 1, 2026, or thereafter.
Estimated remuneration will be commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience.
