DESCRIPTION:

Garden Valley School Division invites applications for the full-time (1.0 FTE) term position of Early Years Teacher at Winkler Elementary School from  September 8, 2026 - June 30, 2027  .
Garden Valley School Division is a dynamic and thriving educational community located in the heartland of Manitoba's beautiful Pembina Valley Region. With a student population of about 4,300, the division encompasses 14 schools in the communities of Winkler, Plum Coulee, Schanzenfeld, Hochfeld, Blumenfeld, Reinland, and Blumengart.

REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERED

QUALIFICATIONS:

Hold or be eligible to hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate.
Prior experience teaching in an early years classroom would be considered an asset.
The ability to work alongside teachers, colleagues and contribute collaboratively as a team member.
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check & Child Abuse Registry Check

SCHOOL INFORMATION:
Winkler Elementary School (WES) is a K-8 school in the heart of Winkler with a student population of around 400, a teaching staff of 27 and support staff of about 21. WES offers a full range of academic programs including Middle Years Exploratory courses that include Home Economics and Industrial Arts. Second language instruction begins in grade 6 with French and German as options.

In addition, the school has a band program that starts in grade
5. Students in grades 7 and 8 have opportunities for a wide range of extra-curricular sports programs that include soccer, basketball, volleyball, track, badminton and cross country. The school is particularly noted for its vocal and instrumental extra-curricular jazz groups.
