Position: Full-Time Temporary Grade 2 Teacher
Location: Peace River

The Peace River School Division is seeking applications for a Full-Time (1.00 f.t.e.) Temporary Grade 2 Teacher at École Springfield Elementary School
. This position will commence immediately and will continue until May 1, 2026. The initial assignment will include teaching all Grade 2 subjects.

Located in the Town of Peace River, the school has an enrolment of approximately 360 students. Programming at the school consists of English, French Immersion and French Second Language programs for Kindergarten to Grade 4 students.

Peace River is a town in northwest Alberta, Canada. It is along the banks of the Peace River at its confluence with the Smoky River, the Heart River and Pat's Creek. It is approximately 486 kilometers northwest of Edmonton and 198 kilometers northeast of Grande Prairie on Highway 2. For more information on the town and what it has to offer, click

Qualifications
  • BEd, primary focus preferred.
  • Evidence of lifelong learning or continuous professional development that is reflected in classroom practice.
  • Evidence of effective use of technology for communication and teaching practice.
  • Effective pedagogical strategies in both numeracy and literacy in primary grades.
  • Inclusion mindset and practices.
  • School wide involvement.
Additional Skills
  • Experience in primary classroom.
  • Short, mid and long range planning.
  • Strengths‑based focused, pro‑active teaching and management.
  • Effective and balanced assessment strategies.
  • Solution focused collaboration skills.
  • Community and family‑focused, including building the school community.
  • Assets: outdoor education focus, play‑focused classroom strategies.
  • Previous experience developing Individual Program Plans for students.
  • Knowledge of the French language is considered an asset.
Requirements
  • Must hold or be eligible for a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • Provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check, dated within six (6) months of your application.

Annual Salary Range

$66,520 to $112,451 (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers’ Association and the Peace River School Division).
