Overview
The Peace River School Division is seeking applications for a Part-Time Temporary (0.87 f.t.e.) Educational Assistant at T.
A. Norris Middle School. This position will commence as a suitable candidate is secured. The successful candidate will provide one-on-one support for our students.
The school is located in the town of Peace River and serves students from grades 5-8. The school offers a high quality core academic program, consisting of English, French Immersion and French Second Language and a wide range of exploratory courses which include Art, Drama, Home Economics and Band.
Qualifications- Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent.
- Experience and/or training working with student in school setting.
- Ability to work with children with varied ages, skills level, needs and abilities.
- Willingness to be part of a learning team, take direction and follow programs without direct supervision.
- Willingness to attend training and professional development opportunities on individual learning and complex learning needs.
- Ability to be flexible to the changing classroom environment and individual child needs
- Ability to manage and organize programming and keep records.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers.
This school offers French programming to its students; knowledge of the French language is considered an asset.
Requirements- Provide an acceptable current Vulnerable Sector Check

This is a union position under the collective agreement between the
Rate Of Pay$22.59 to $28.02 per hour (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division).
