Job Details
Reporting to the Controller (based in South Africa), you will take day‑to‑day ownership of the plant finance function. This hands‑on leadership role has two direct reports (AP and AR) and significant involvement in inventory, cost accounting, and SAP process enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead month‑end close (5‑day cycle) alongside the Controller

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts

Perform journal entries, reconciliations, and year‑end procedures

Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports

Support fixed asset accounting

Manage intercompany reconciliations (including US/Canada transactions)

Take ownership of inventory control and cost accounting

Partner daily with production, procurement, and sales

Monitor margin performance and cost control

Support and enhance SAP processes and internal controls

Support internal and external audits (including PBC schedules)

Address system‑related audit findings and strengthen controls

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company procedures

Prepare tax data and regulatory filings as required

Supervise, mentor, and develop two direct reports (AP and AR)

Ensure accurate and timely processing of disbursements and receipts

Promote cross‑training and continuous improvement

Identify process gaps and inefficiencies

Drive SAP‑related system improvements

Implement stronger accounting control procedures

Support broader plant and corporate initiatives

What We’re Looking For

5–7 years experience in Accounting/Finance within a manufacturing environment (essential)

Strong inventory and cost accounting experience

SAP experience (highly desirable)

Experience working in plant‑based operational finance

Comfortable in a hands‑on, on‑site role

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

CPA or CMA beneficial but not required

$85,500–$125,000 CAD + Bonus. Full‑time, starts as soon as possible.
