Adecco is currently seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper-Comptroller for a permanent role in Gold River, BC, offering a competitive salary of up to $85,000 per annum. In this role, you will oversee full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting, ensuring the organization's financial health and compliance. - Shifts: Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
- Job type: Permanent | Full-time
- Manage all aspects of accounting, including AP, AR, payroll, inventory, and fixed assets. Prepare accurate trial balances and adjusting entries to maintain complete and reliable financial records.
- Deliver clear and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end statements in line with PSAS and funder requirements. Analyze variances and provide insights to support CFO decision-making.
- Lead the annual budgeting process with managers, develop multi-year forecasts and cash-flow projections, and track performance against targets.
- Establish strong financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with CRA, ISC, FNHA, and organizational policies. Oversee external audits and implement improvements.
- Ensure accuracy of timesheets, deductions, remittances, and year-end filings (T4/T4A) in collaboration with HR/Payroll.
- Champion system upgrades, streamline processes, and train end users.
Experience with Xyntax, Payworks, or ERP systems is a plus. - Mentor junior accounting staff and partner with program managers to build financial literacy and strengthen organizational capacity.
- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
- Diploma in Accounting and a Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent) required.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA) or active enrollment in a CPA program preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in bookkeeping, controllership, or senior full-cycle accounting roles.
- Proven experience preparing audited financial statements and managing budgets of $5M+, ideally in First Nations, public-sector, or non-profit environments.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and hands-on experience with cloud-based accounting systems (Xyntax and Payworks considered an asset).
