Job Description

Position Summary
:
The Press Operator is responsible for the set-up and operation of press equipment. The employee must monitor the process and product quality and make necessary corrections to maintain a steady flow of quality products to the customer.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the operation of all types of machines and ensure they are well maintained.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, schedules, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabrication.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines according to specifications.
  • Adjust and operate machine speed and control load of the machines.
  • Monitor finished products to ensure quality conforms to specifications.
  • Monitor machine operation and report the need for improvement, defects, or malfunctions.
  • Operate lifting devices as needed.
  • Maintain tools and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
  • Look for opportunities to participate in safety, environmental, process changes, and overall improvement efforts.
  • Follow all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
  • Read, understand, and follow the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.
  • Report unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to a supervisor or management.
  • Shut down process if unsafe and follow proper machine shutdown procedures.
Qualifications
  • Must be dependable and self-motivated.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Be able to contribute to and support a positive work environment.
  • Can pay attention to the operations of the machinery.
Education
  • Education and/or

    Experience:

    High school diploma or GED; or 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must attend, complete, and implement required in-house training.

  • Be willing to work overtime when required due to production demands and material availability.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery, and industrial lubricants.
  • Requires use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
  • May involve standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
Additional Information

Shift: M-Th 6:00am-4:30pm EST
