Overview
Brown’s Bay Resort and Marina is seeking a dependable, hands-on Marina Operations Supervisor to oversee daily marina operations and support a safe, efficient, and welcoming waterfront environment. This role is well suited to an experienced marine professional with strong leadership skills, operational awareness, and a commitment to guest service.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily marina operations, including docks, moorage, fuel dock, and waterfront facilities
- Ensure safe vessel movement, proper mooring practices, and compliance with marina safety standards
- Supervise, train, and schedule marina staff; provide on-site leadership and direction
- Assist guests with docking, moorage, fueling, and marina-related inquiries
- Monitor weather and marine conditions and respond appropriately to changing conditions
- Conduct regular dock inspections and coordinate minor repairs and maintenance
- Enforce marina policies professionally and consistently
- Coordinate with resort management, maintenance, and front desk teams
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and guest concerns promptly and effectively
- Maintain accurate operational records, incident reports, and daily logs
- Experience using reservation and marina management systems to manage moorage availability and guest records
- Ability to accurately enter, update, and maintain reservation data
- Familiarity with inventory tracking and ordering systems for marina supplies, fuel, and operational materials
- Ability to monitor stock levels, place inventory orders, and coordinate purchases with management
- Basic proficiency with spreadsheets for tracking inventory usage, deliveries, and reorders
- Comfortable using email and internal communication systems
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems for guest transactions is an asset
- Previous experience in marina operations, marine services, or waterfront supervision preferred
- Supervisory or leadership experience considered a strong asset
- Solid knowledge of boating practices, dock operations, and marine safety
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive in emergency or high-pressure situations
- Physically capable of working outdoors and assisting with vessels and equipment
- Restricted Operator Certificate Maritime (ROC-M) certification required or willingness to obtain
- First Aid certification preferred
- Seasonal position with potential for extension
- Includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays
