, you will lead and support media analysis, eDiscovery, forensic support, and FOIA preservation and collection. You will conduct data queries and extractions while preserving the metadata and integrity of the original data that is required within the agency.

$107,446 to – $139,684 per year. The actual salary will be set based on the grade, step, and your location.

Duties (Responsibilities)
  • Organize and manage FOIA and eDiscovery requests, preparing legal documents for all FOIA and eDiscovery tasks.
  • Collect and preserve forensic data, maintaining integrity, chain of custody, and preventing spoliation.
  • Collaborate with analysts to support digital investigation techniques and guide stakeholders in data retrieval and digital evidence examination.
  • Provide technical summaries of findings in writing or orally, communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Create and maintain incident management SOP for preservation, documentation, protection and custody of FOIA and eDiscovery data.
  • Manage processing of complex FOIA requests to support transparency, accountability, and compliance while protecting national security and sensitive information.
Conditions of Employment
  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • Successfully pass a Background Investigation including financial disclosure.
  • Pass a drug screening.

Residency Requirement
:
Candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying, (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity; OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S. Federal or Military employee serving overseas.

Probationary Period
:
You may be required to serve a probationary period of 1 year.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements
:

  • IT related experience, demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience or completion of specific IT certification.
  • Demonstrate competencies:
    Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication.
  • GS-14 Experience
    :
    One (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-13 level. Experience must include:

    • Documented experience with basic physical computer components and architectures, especially to digital forensics investigations.
    • Understanding of handling electronically stored information (ESI) within legal frameworks.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to exchange information and provide recommendations.
    Education

    No educational substitution at this grade level.
