Responsibilities and Capabilities- Function as a Paramedic conducting patient care from an ambulance.
- Supervise EMS field operations in the absence of senior management, ensuring adequate zone coverage and compliance.
- Serve as Ameri Pro EMS liaison with outside responding agencies and personnel.
- Prepare appropriate reports in the absence of senior management (mechanical breakdowns, incident investigations, exposures, daily shift activities, etc.).
- Ensure field staff adhere to Ameri Pro EMS policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.
- Adhere to patient care protocols and assist in evaluating employee performance; maintain attendance records.
- Monitor deployment and efficiency of the system; make decisions on IFT, mutual aid, and out-of-town trips in absence of senior management.
- Manage day-to-day short-term scheduling; ensure TEFs are turned into the Operations Supervisor.
- Deliver RTF paperwork to on-duty employees and forward to the administrative assistant.
- Ensure daily duties (truck cleaning, station duties, check-offs) are performed.
- Be the first contact for issues such as OJIs, complaints, and company-related accidents; initiate investigations and forward for completion.
- Complete daily shift reports detailing activities.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training for new employees and students.
- Respond to scenes with crews and assume command during Mass Casualty Incidents until relieved by senior management.
- Attend regular planning meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate ability to safely lift and move patients and operate within safety guidelines.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years EMS experience preferred
- State-specific Paramedic license in good standing; current NREMT certification if required by state
- Current CPR certifications: BLS, ACLS, PCC/PALS
- Valid state-specific Driver’s license
- Background check and drug screening clearance
- Strong people skills and ability to collaborate in a team
- Proficient verbal and written communication in English
- Ventilator certified every three years
- Successful completion of a written and practical exam
- FEMA IS certifications: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800
- Previous experience as a Paramedic or in a similar medical role
- Additional certifications in emergency services (AMLS, PHTLS, ATLS)
- Technology proficiency
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of on-site emergency medical services methods and protocols
- Ability to read and interpret local maps and medical terminology
- Strong multitasking and timely decision-making abilities
- Ability to write reports and correspondence; proficiency with PCR, email, and MDT applications
- Represent Ameri Pro EMS professionally as an EMS practitioner
Regular use of hands for manipulation; frequent standing/walking; ability to lift and move up to 180 pounds regularly and up to 300 pounds with assistance; vision requirements include near, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Working EnvironmentEMS care environment with potential for inclement weather, hazardous conditions, and psychological stressors. Possible interruptions, high work pressure, and irregular schedules. Some meetings may occur outside regular hours.
