Job Summary/Purpose
:
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

Qualifications

Minimum Training and Education
:
Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations
:
Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) also required for most nursing areas within the hospital.

Physical and Mental Requirements
:
Ability to perform job functions while standing (Continuous); while sitting (Continuous); while walking (Continuous); able to climb stairs (Infrequent); able to work indoors (Continuous); able to work outside in temperature extremes (Infrequent); able to work from elevated areas (Frequent); able to work in confined/cramped spaces (Frequent); able to perform from kneeling positions (Infrequent); able to bend, twist, squat, and perform various movements (Continuous);

able to perform pinching, gross motor, fine motor, and grasping activities (Continuous); able to reach overhead and perform repetitive motions (Continuous); able to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted (Infrequent); able to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted; able to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. (Infrequent); able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force (Frequent);

good vision and color perception (Continuous); adequate hearing (Continuous); able to work rotating shifts and overtime as required (Frequent); able to work in a latex-safe environment and maintain tactile sensory functions (Continuous).
