Job Summary/Purpose
:
Under general supervision, provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; deliver safe and effective care and interact with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
- Minimum Training and Education
:
Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations
:
Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) also required for most nursing areas within the hospital.
and Mental Requirements
Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking; climb stairs; work indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes; work from elevated areas; work in confined spaces; kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting; fine and gross motor activities; repetitive motions; lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs unassisted (and related lifting requirements for patient transfer and equipment); good vision and hearing with corrective measures;
ability to deal with stressful situations; ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required; ability to work in a latex-safe environment; other listed physical requirements as described.
