Position Goals- Public Safety Officers will report directly to the Executive Director of Public Safety or their designee. Their duties include, but are not limited to, crime prevention, protection of life and property, traffic control, investigation, enforcement of college policies, and other duties as assigned. Public Safety Officers shall also render appropriate assistance to on-campus motorists and assist in emergency messenger service functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Welcome and respond to all inquiries from visitors, students, faculty, and staff and act in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Enforce Camden County College standards related to loss prevention and safety procedures.
- Monitor designated areas using a range of techniques such as floor-walking and operating security camera systems.
- Patrol assigned area(s), prepare a Daily Patrol Log, chronologically listing all activities, incidents, and action taken during shift; also, prepare written reports completely on prescribed forms, or word process on a computer.
- Receive service calls, complaints, and incident reports from students, faculty, staff, campus visitors, and the general public. Accurately record important information for further action. When needed issue daily situational representations, answer calls for service, dispatch personnel in accordance with outlined procedures, generate emergency notifications for the College’s emergency management team and predesignated stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Public Safety and/or their designee.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position may require constant mobility throughout the campus.
- Dexterity in working with computers is mandatory when providing daily situational representations (Sit Reps), critical incident notifications ( CIN ) and other methods of digital communication.
