Short Description
  • Facilitates coordination for reconstructive and general plastic surgery needs collaborating with plastic surgeons and surgical teams to ensure appropriate referrals, pre-operative preparation, and continuity of care for patients requiring complex wound closure, soft tissue reconstruction, or post-oncologic reconstructive procedures.
  • Coordinates the continuum of care for breast cancer patients undergoing surgical treatment, facilitating seamless collaboration between breast surgeons and plastic surgeons to support timely reconstruction planning and optimal clinical outcomes.
  • Serves as the central point of contact for patients, guiding them through surgical decision-making, reconstruction options, and treatment timelines while ensuring clear communication among the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Streamlines pre-operative and post-operative coordination, including scheduling, education, and preparation for procedures to improve patient experience and reduce delays in care.
  • Provides patient education and navigation support, helping patients understand surgical pathways, choices, and recovery expectations while addressing barriers to care.
Experience Required

Minimum of 3 years surgery nursing and/or care coordination experience and background a plus.

Education Requirements

BSN required.

License/Certification Requirements

Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse), BLS and ACLS required.
