Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg RN with at least 2 years of experience, a SC or compact RN license, and night shift availability.
Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of an acute care hospital

• 54-bed Med Surg unit with a patient ratio of 1:6

• Night shift schedule, working 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

• Rotates every other weekend and holidays as needed

• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities is required

• Uses Epic EMR for charting

• Royal blue scrubs required

• First-time travelers are accepted for this role

• All employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June to November)

• All requested time off (RTO) must be included at submission; RTO over 7 days or including holidays requires approval and may delay the process

• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted on a case-by-case basis

• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least one year prior to consideration as a traveler

• Free parking is available for staff
Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license must be in hand prior to start

• BLS and ACLS certifications required

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg RN experience required

• IV start skills required

• Experience with telemetry and management of cardiac gtts preferred

• Must have documentation of at least one year of current relevant experience and work history covering the past three years

• Candidates must not have any license or certification actions pending

• Two references required for consideration
