Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position with open heart recovery and advanced device experience.

• Work in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in a hospital setting
• Care for post-open heart surgery patients directly from the OR
• Patient population includes those with advanced cardiac support needs such as balloon pumps, LVADs, Impella, and ECMO
• Night shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:00)
• Floating within five hospitals may be required, based on skillset
• Uses Epic for charting
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Responsibilities include managing post-cardiac surgery patients and advanced cardiac devices
• First-time travelers will be considered but are not preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Block scheduling is not allowed
• RTO must be submitted at the time of application; no additions after submission
• Local candidates living within 50 miles are paid at a lower rate

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
• Must have open heart recovery experience and advanced cardiac device experience (balloon pumps, LVADs, Impellas, ECMO)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass a Dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing the contract on a PC device; only two attempts permitted
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required, no exemptions permitted
