Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III Labor & Delivery position requiring NJ or compact licensure, ACLS, BLS, and NRP certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a high-risk, Level III Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting

• Patient ratio of approximately 1:6, with potential to be assigned to facilities with higher volumes

• Travelers may float to High Risk Obstetric Unit (HROB) and among five different hospitals based on need

• Day shifts, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00)

• Block scheduling is not permitted

• Requires working every other weekend

• One winter holiday and one summer holiday coverage required

• Scrubs are provided by the hospital

• Uses Epic EMR and telemetry monitoring equipment

• Provide labor and delivery care in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment

• Expected to float across multiple hospitals within skillset as needed

• Fit testing is required prior to working on the unit and staff must be clean shaven for proper mask fit

• Modules for education and orientation must be completed and documented

• Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing

• First-time travelers will be considered but are not preferred

• No travel pairs are accepted; each clinician must apply individually

• Travelers living within 50 miles of the primary worksite are eligible at a lower pay rate

• Requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application, with no accepted RTO within the first week

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience within the last 12 months

• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP (not expiring within 30 days of start)

• Must pass a dysrhythmia test on a PC within 72 hours of signing, with a maximum of 2 attempts

• Experience circulating and scrubbing for C-sections

• Experience with telemetry monitoring

• Completion of all state and national certifications prior to consideration

• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations are required with no exemptions
