Short DescriptionUnder the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care. Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family or significant other(s). Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
The Labor and Delivery unit has 6 labor rooms, 1 treatment room, and 2 high risk maternal advanced care beds. There are also 2 designated operating rooms and 2 PACU bays. The unit specializes in labor and delivery of uncomplicated and high-risk pregnancies. The Obstetrical Triage unit consists of 7 triage bays as well as 2 non-stress test chairs. Any patient 16 weeks pregnant or greater to 6 weeks post-partum is seen in OB Triage.
Patients are seen for various complaints as well as for iron/blood infusions, and Rhogam injections.
0-2 years of experience preferred
Education RequirementsHigh School / GED
License/Certification Requirements- Successful completion of an unlicensed health care provider/ technician program
- Completed at least one fundamental nursing course in an accredited Nursing Program
- 1 year or more patient care experience in a similar role.
At least one of the above qualifications/certifications must be met for hire.
AHA Basic Life Support certification - required
Skills- Communication – Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers
- Successful phlebotomy/EKG competency must be completed during orientation
