Short DescriptionThe following describes the responsibilities of the PCT within the OR:
- Assist the clinical team in providing indirect patient care and perform non-patient care duties such as:
- Room turnover: removing trash, cleaning all OR areas including the OR table, making the table up, and mopping the floor
- Gathering equipment, supplies, and instrumentation for surgical cases
- Changing OR tables when necessary
- Setting up the OR: preparing the room for the next or first case of the day, including making the bed and positioning equipment
- Transporting specimens to the lab
- Returning supplies to CSP and organizing supplies stored in the OR upstairs
Note:
The PCT will be on their feet throughout the shift; supportive footwear is recommended.
- Preferred:
Acute Care Hospital experience (e.g., Nursing Assistant, Unit Secretary, PCS) - Visual and auditory acuity for information retrieval and computer monitor use
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- American Heart Association BLS certification
