• Assist with patient assessment, mechanical ventilatory support monitoring, non-invasive ventilation support, and administration of medical gases (e.g., heliox, nitric oxide, oxygen, compressed air).
• Perform humidification and aerosol therapy, airway management, delivery of aerosolized and instilled medications, chest physical therapy, vest therapy, IPV therapy, in-exsufflator therapy, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, arterial blood gas acquisition and analysis.
• Monitor pulse oximetry and trend data, assist with ventilatory weaning, peak flow monitoring, bedside tracheostomy assistance, and bronchoscopy.
• Assist with internal and external patient transport, and provide patient and family education.
• Clean and prepare respiratory therapy equipment, deliver oxygen tanks as needed, and assist staff with equipment needs.

Prior hospital or patient care experience preferred.

Graduate of an accredited AS/BS Degree program in Respiratory Care (AMA Approved).

• Valid BLS certification.
• Obtain an RCP license within 90 days of graduation.
• Maintain required proficiencies (skills fair, BLS, NRP, and NJ State Licensure).
