Temporary Part-time Garden State Pathways Mentor

Job Description
  • Reinforce material presented as needed to support students’ success.
  • Assist students in remaining task‑focused.
  • Provide assistance outside the classroom to prioritize and support academic assignments, vocational hours and campus activities.
  • Assist the students to utilize college facilities (library, OIT, tutoring).
  • Guide the students towards achieving their work‑place objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ progress via weekly journals.
  • Escalate any concerns with regard to the student to the program Assistant Director as soon as they arise.
  • Maintain student confidentiality at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to commit 3 to 15 hours a week during the academic school year.
  • Interest in working with students with intellectual/developmental disabilities ages 18‑24.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and ability to multi‑task.
  • Completion of a minimum 12 college credits and a 2.5 GPA preferred.
