Camden Rockport Middle School, housed in a beautiful new building, serves just under 400 students in grades 5‑8 from the towns of Camden and Rockport. CRMS has been implementing a Project Based Learning model of curriculum and instruction and values students’ active engagement in the learning process.

We are seeking a dynamic teacher of mathematics with experience and fluency in teaching pre‑Algebra concepts and skills up through and including high school Algebra 1. The ideal candidate is collaborative, energetic, and deeply knowledgeable about the middle school learner and best practices in mathematics instruction. Experience with, or a strong interest in, interdisciplinary teaching and project‑based learning is highly desirable.

• Create and implement a comprehensive mathematics curriculum that aligns with educational standards at a developmentally appropriate level.
• Implement student‑centered instructional practices.
• Maintain a positive and respectful learning environment.
• Evaluate student progress and adapt instruction to meet student needs.
• Effectively communicate with students, peers, parents, and administrators.

• Knowledge of the diverse ways in which students learn and develop
• Ability to adapt lesson plans based on student needs within different learning groups
• Ability to engage with students, home, school, colleagues, and the community to support student learning and wellbeing

• Background check, including fingerprinting
• Maine Department of Education teaching certification with Mathematics 5‑8 (300) required

• Pay starts at $52,686 (step B
  - 0) annually with possibility of increase based on experience, within the parameters of the applicable contract
