Job Description

Electrician Mechanic C will work under limited supervision to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance using manufacturer publications, blueprints, schematics and locally generated instructions. Run conduit and lay out electrical wiring circuits and calculate wire size and requirements for loads, for MDP’s and motor loads, etc. Must be able to troubleshoot motor controls and electrical circuits and make necessary repairs. Must be familiar with OSHA and NEC standards.

Will be required to follow work procedures, work on facilities and production equipment, as well as perform general maintenance and other duties.

Essential Functions
  • 80% - Electrical/HVAC and machinery upkeep/repair.
  • 5% - Install new equipment.
  • 5% - Conduct preventative maintenance.
  • 5% - Perform boiler maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of equipment.
  • 5% - General shop upkeep, cleaning, and/or organizing.
Qualifications
  • Journeyman license preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge and understanding of service and installation processes of industrial equipment.
  • Valid state issued Driver's License.
  • Qualification for respirator and breathing air devices and work on fire/rescue teams.
  • Continued education in a maintenance discipline and cross training in other disciplines within the department will be required as needed.
  • Must be available to work any shift, weekends, holidays and be on call as required.
  • Must be very safety and environmentally conscious.
Additional Requirements

May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

In addition, applicants who accept a conditional offer of employment may be subject to government security investigation(s) and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Work Environment and

Physical Requirements

The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps), balance, bending, reaching, handling/fingering, stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. May require operating material handling equipment (forklift, crane, hoist, man lift) in a safe manner. May involve work around variable noise levels, fumes or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, goggles, face shield, steel-toed shoes, rubber boots, gloves, hard hat, shop coat, and hearing protection.

Some positions may require Respirator clearance up to and including SCBA Level
