Quality Manager – Armtec Defense Technologies
Armtec Defense Technologies (Armtec) is an operating unit of the Trans Digm Group (NYSE: TDG). Armtec produces subcomponents for ordnance in Coachella, CA; decoy countermeasure flares in Camden AR; and radar countermeasure chaff in Lillington NC. This position is located in Camden, AR and is a full‑time role reporting to the Site Leader / Director of Quality.
Job SummaryThe Quality Manager is accountable for overseeing all quality functions at the Camden, AR site. They lead a team of Quality Engineering, QA & Control, Audit, Inspection, and Calibration staff. The Quality Manager serves as a mentor, represents the site to customer quality leadership, and champions continuous improvement across production operations. They ensure compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements, develop quality improvement plans, and regularly analyze and communicate performance status.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Overall product quality management for the site.
- Develop and manage strategic quality improvement plans in alignment with operating unit strategies.
- Develop and manage the Quality department budget and annual plans.
- Train, mentor, and perform management of direct and indirect Quality department staff.
- Track and report on quality department metrics, including Total Cost of Poor Quality.
- Assure contract review and quality planning for all contracts.
- Provide technical guidance to Quality Engineers and failure analysis teams on root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and quality tools.
- Ensure Failure Analysis teams drive true root causes and implement corrective and long‑term preventive actions.
- Manage an effective Configuration Management program, Contract Review, Supplier Quality System, In‑Process Quality Assurance, Product Testing, Calibration, and Analytical Lab.
- Coordinate ISO audit and Management Review.
- Maintain quality metrics to monitor site/program performance and present to site leadership.
- Develop and improve SPC Program.
- Coordinate DCMA POC and scheduling coordination.
- Generate Management Reports on quality program progress and product metrics.
- Coordinate improvements to ISO 9000 quality management system and operate an effective auditing system and corrective/preventive action system.
- Implement Six‑Sigma training program and develop certified green and black belts in Six‑Sigma.
- Lead process and product improvement activities with IPT Quality Leads.
- Develop and deploy Statistical Process Control methods, improved inspection processes, and real‑time electronic data collection and analysis methods.
- Implement data‑driven decision making process and ensure accuracy of reported data.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards.
- Primary point of contact with onsite QAR representatives from DCMA, coordinating weekly inspections, audits, First Article Inspections, and required reports.
- Bachelor of Science Degree, preferably in Engineering, and minimum five years’ experience in Quality Engineering and 5 years in a Quality Assurance role. Master’s Degree in Business Administration is preferred.
- Prefer candidates with ASQ CQE certification and/or Six Sigma Blackbelt certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge in Six‑sigma, 8D problem solving methodologies, Fault Tree Analysis, Design of Experiment, Statistical Analysis methods and other industry standard quality tools.
- Demonstrated experience with Statistical Process Control software and improving electronic data collection, data analysis, and quality event notifications in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Requires strong technical competency and strong computer skills. Prefer experience with Infinity
QS Proficient SPC, DMS/DCS, Minitab, Relational SQL Databases, and Power
BI. - Experience with US Government Quality specifications and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Must be dependable, responsible, and accurate and have the ability to deal with people effectively.

- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government.
- Must be able to obtain an Employee Possessor license from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF).
4/10 workweek.
