What You Will DoAs a Production Test Engineer (PTE I), you’ll be involved with validating and ensuring compliance of prime hardware to technical data package requirements and supporting test equipment. You’ll also assist with troubleshooting and problem solving test failures and identifying opportunities in test processes to improve efficiency, yields, and capacity.
- Assisting with validation of new or modified test equipment for production use.
- Helping to ensure that the operation of test equipment and associated work instructions are accurate and that test equipment and software meet the test requirements specified for the product.
- Monitoring and improving the test process through analysis of predictive metrics of trends, failure modes, and test yields.
- Participating in preliminary investigation of problem resolution.
- Developing test flows and contributing to test capacity analysis.
- Maintaining changes to the test equipment technical data package which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals, and system software.
- Assisting in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis, and repair of the product or test equipment.
- Participating in root cause and corrective action investigations and presenting findings.
- Available to cover additional shifts including some weekend work.
- Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance.
- Knowledge of advanced electronics/electrical engineering, basic mechanical engineering, or basic computer programming.
- Experience with hands‑on hardware integration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with technical writing and/or interpreting technical documents.
