Manufacturing Engineer Sr. – Lockheed Martin
OverviewYou will be the Senior Manufacturing Engineer for our Engineering team. The team is responsible for developing innovative mechanical solutions, designing tooling and equipment, and providing engineering support to the production floor.
Responsibilities- Develop tooling and equipment designs from engineering hardware specifications, culminating in complete technical data packages that fully define tooling/equipment and enable fabrication of components and assembly of the end item.
- Design and documentation work in accordance with company standards, primarily using Pro-Engineer / Solid Works.
- Provide engineering support to the production floor for issues that may surface during normal day‑to‑day integration processes, using problem‑solving skills in a team environment consistent with production rate requirements.
- Research, plan, design, and develop mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, and machines for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and machines.
- Proficient with MS Office suite.
- Experience with AutoCAD, CREO, or Solid Works.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems/equipment used in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of engineering materials.
- Promoting safety practices on the shop floor and eliminating safety risks.
- Experienced with troubleshooting practices using FMEA, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions (RC/CA).
- Implementing continuous improvement projects using 6S and Lean manufacturing techniques.
- Customer service skills to communicate with the shop floor and train operators.
- Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions, and Bill of Materials (BoM).
- Interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications, including Geometric and Dimensional Tolerances (GD&T).
- Incorporating configuration changes in existing procedures and verifying alignment with engineering requirements.
- Designing new tools and maintaining existing tooling/equipment.
- Project management experience: writing a business case, developing estimates, reporting schedule, and coordinating tasks between multiple functions.
