Multi Trade Operative
Job DescriptionThe role is to carry out general multi‑trade works for planned maintenance upgrades, including kitchens and bathrooms. Sites will mainly be occupied by our customers across the organisation’s stock. The successful candidate will be provided with a van, fuel card and all PPE.

- Carry out general multi‑trade activities including painting and decorating, tiling, plastering, routine carpentry and plumbing.
- Work in accordance with One Direct’s performance specifications, Building Regulations Approved Documents and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
- Work flexibly as part of a team to deliver annual replacement targets.
- Manage job allocation via One Serve, maintain stock records, and meet system requirements from start to completion.
- Ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed and communicate concerns to appropriate parties.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and a work ethic that avoids complaints.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by line manager, with full training and supervision provided when needed.
- Comply with Equal Opportunities, Diversity Policy, Data Protection Act and One Direct’s Health & Safety Policy.
- Experience with in the construction sector.
- Good understanding of legislation in maintenance and property management.
- Good standard of education.
- Good customer service skills.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Self‑motivated, assertive and confident.
- Proven problem‑solving track record.
- Resilience and readiness to take responsibility.
- Housing and/or buildings knowledge.
- NVQ 2 or NVQ 3 qualifications in painting and decorating, plastering or tiling.
