Teacher of Physics

About the Role

Permanent full‑time post for a Physics teacher at University College School (UCS). The role offers an exciting opportunity to develop or begin a career in a lively and innovative setting, supporting a dynamic, collaborative department.

• Teach physics to pupils across all age groups, from the combined Science curriculum in Years 7‑8 to the IGCSE and A‑Level Physics programmes.
• Act as a Form Tutor.
• Contribute to co‑curricular life, including the Physics Breakfast & Engineering Society, Lower School Science Club, Physics Olympiads, challenges and the academic enrichment programme.
• Collaborate within the Physics Department, supporting shared resources and minimising unnecessary workload.
• Plan and deliver curriculum aligned with the CAIE international A‑Level syllabus and the Edexcel IGCSE specification.

• Graduate of a relevant degree course in Physics or a related subject.
• Deep passion for Physics and the ability to convey this effectively to students.
• Experience or willingness to support co‑curricular activities; experience teaching at the IGCSE or A‑Level level is desirable.
• Eligibility to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
