About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant Camden primary school, working closely with children who require additional support to thrive academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
* Assist in the delivery of tailored learning plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
* Support pupils in developing positive relationships, resilience, and emotional regulation.
* Promote inclusion and ensure pupils feel safe, valued, and supported.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
* Contribute to the wider school community and uphold safeguarding standards.
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who is:
* Experienced in supporting children with SEMH needs (school-based experience preferred).
* Patient, empathetic, and resilient with excellent communication skills.
* Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
* Knowledgeable about strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
* Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience as an LSA, Teaching Assistant, or similar role.
* Training or experince in SEMH, behaviour management, or related areas is highly desirable.
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths required.
