Sanza Teaching Agency is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a Federation based in Camden, who are seeking a dedicated and skilled SEMH Class Teacher to work within a small specialist provision based at a Primary School.
About the Role
This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to teach within a small, specialist SEMH provision supporting pupils in Years 1 and 2, embedded within an inclusive mainstream primary school. The provision offers short- to medium-term, intensive support for a small number of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, with the clear aim of successful reintegration into mainstream learning.
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day teaching and organisation of the provision, working closely with support staff, the Inclusion team, and senior leaders across the federation.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality, adaptive teaching informed by EYFS principles and the KS1 curriculum
Create a calm, structured and emotionally safe learning environment
Use relational, restorative and trauma-informed approaches to support behaviour, wellbeing and engagement
Support pupils in developing emotional regulation, positive relationships and engagement with learning
Work collaboratively with families, class teachers and leaders to plan and support successful transitions back into mainstream classes
Monitor progress and tailor provision to meet pupils' academic, social and emotional needs
The Ideal Candidate
A qualified primary teacher with experience or a strong interest in SEMH and inclusion
Confident in working with pupils who require a highly structured and nurturing approach
Skilled in small-group teaching and personalised learning
Calm, patient and resilient, with a strong commitment to pupil wellbeing
A collaborative team player who values strong relationships with staff and families
