Dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEND/Autism Focus) – Lower KS1, Camden
Vocational Recruitment is partnering with a thriving and inclusive Primary School in the heart of Camden to find a compassionate and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant / Learning support assistant.
This vital role focuses specifically on providing intensive, dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism in Lower Key Stage 1.

This is a focused, term-time-only position designed for an individual who excels in complex support roles.
* Mainstream Primary School in Camden. Well connected by public transport
* Primarily 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD (Lower KS1).
* Monday to Friday, typically 8:30am– 4:00pm (Term-Time Only, starting January 2026).
* Full-time, Term-Time Only, with the potential for a temp-to-perm transition.
* Competitive pay rates reflecting your specialist experience.
Role
Summary:
You will be responsible for implementing the pupil’s Individual Education Plan (IEP), managing sensory needs and facilitating engagement with the curriculum.
Specific Requirements of the Role:
* SEND Expertise:
Proven experience supporting children with Autism is essential.
* Personal Care:
Applicants must be prepared to assist with personal care needs (e.g., toileting, changing) as required by the pupil.
* Experience working with younger children, Nursery/Reception, KS1 all relevant)
* Skill in using effective Behaviour Management strategies (e.g., visual timetables, PECS to support communication and positive behaviour.

* Previous, direct experience supporting children, ideally in an SEND or 1:1 capacity.
* Excellent ability to communicate with the pupils, parents, SENCO etc
* A commitment to working collaboratively within the school’s supportive inclusion team.
