Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are representing a client looking to hire a dynamic and adaptable individual to join their Building Services team.
This role offers a varied and stable working environment, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking for a long-term position without the high-pressure demands of more intensive trade roles.
Role Overview :
The role involves a broad range of duties, including electrical-related tasks, compliance testing, fire safety checks, and general facilities maintenance. While electrical experience is essential, particularly in rewiring and basic electrical works, the role is well-suited to someone later in their career or someone seeking a relaxed environment with plenty of room for development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Electrical Tasks:
Light testing, basic rewiring, fault finding and repairs.
* Compliance & Safety:
Conduct compliance and safety checks, including fire safety testing (fire doors, alarms).
* Facilities Maintenance:
General facilities work such as minor repairs, painting and plant equipment maintenance.
* Laboratory & Specialist Support:
Assistance in laboratory and other specialist facilities.
Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience in electrical maintenance (Level 2/3 in Electro-technical Technology Installation or similar qualifications preferred).
* Exposure to facilities-related duties or willingness to learn.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexible attitude with good interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
* Comfortable with some manual work and minor alterations within building spaces.
This position would be perfect for someone looking to work in a more relaxed, supportive environment. While it does not require a fully qualified electrician, experience in basic electrical works and safety checks is essential.
Salary & Benefits:
* Grade 5:
Starting salary between £32,000 – £36,498 (progression available).
* Grade 6 (potential uplift): £34,000 – £39,000.
* Incremental salary increases based on business case submissions.
* Development opportunities with apprenticeship pathways available.
Development & Opportunities:
* Strong learning curve in facilities, plant, and lab environments.
* Career progression opportunities within the team.
* Long-term stable role with opportunities for personal development.
