Commercial Plumber

Location: Comberton

Due to sustained growth in our workload, we’re seeking an experienced Commercial Plumber to join our established General Works and Maintenance team in Cambridge.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a reputable company with a diverse portfolio, working across sectors such as Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Defence, and Research.

You will be servicing clients throughout Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Suffolk, Essex, and neighbouring counties.

As a key member of the team, you’ll report directly to the General Works Manager, representing the company with professionalism and pride. This role involves the installation of industrial and commercial pipework, alongside some occasional maintenance duties.

Working Hours

* Core

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm.

* Overtime:

* First 12 hours worked:
Time and a half.

* 12+ hours worked:
Double time.

* Saturdays:
First 6 hours at time; after 6 hours at double time.

* Sundays:
All hours worked at double time.

Key Responsibilities

* Adhere to Health & Safety policies, risk assessments, and method statements.

* Assess project requirements and plan installations of system components.

* Supervise a small team, including subcontractors, as required.

* Coordinate with other trades and liaise with clients or main contractors.

* Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

* Manage quality control and ensure high standards of workmanship.

* Meet project deadlines and contribute to team goals.

* Participate in the department call-out rota.

Key

Skills & Qualifications

* C&G NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating (essential, Level 3 preferred).

* SSTS or SMSTS (desirable, training available).

* CSCS card (essential, test available if needed).

* Minimum 3+ years experience in the industrial and commercial plumbing sectors (essential).

* Full UK driving licence (essential); company vehicle provided for work use only.

Desirable Skills (Training can be provided if needed):

* IPAF and PASMA certification.

* Asbestos Awareness / Management.

* First Aid and Fire Marshall certifications
