Job DescriptionAs a Territory Account Manager you will sell the complete consumable and instrumentation portfolio into sample management & biobanking facilities and the wider life science market, focusing on Cambridge, East Anglia, Nottingham & Midlands. You will use your market knowledge to expand our Sample Management market share while growing our customer network directly and alongside our preferred distribution partners.
What You’ll Do- Develop and execute an effective business growth plan aligned with SMS strategic initiatives and sales funnel best practices, identifying growth opportunities including new market penetration.
- Achieve annual sales goals within the assigned territory by developing, maintaining, and enhancing client accounts.
- Deliver on annual and quarterly sales targets, reporting regularly via CRM (Sales Force) on pipeline and activity.
- Demonstrate the benefits of Azenta’s Consumable and Instrument portfolio, emphasizing risk minimisation, sample quality improvement, and access enhancements for clients.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities and identify new business opportunities and market trends to drive growth.
- Follow up on e‑commerce and inbound leads, converting them into sales opportunities.
- Represent Azenta at account events such as tabletop meetings and seminars, acting as a brand ambassador independently or with distribution partners.
- Support regional distributor partners, building relationships and meeting support during customer events and training.
- Attend and facilitate exhibitions, maintaining and increasing face‑to‑face customer interaction through efficient territory planning.
- Gather customer intelligence and feedback to inform product enhancement and new product development.
- Maintain accurate CRM records (SFDC) within the territory.
- Ensure product knowledge and customer communication meet the highest standard.
- Provide timely product samples and quotations to customers.
- Minimum of a BSc in a life science subject such as Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Medical Science or related fields.
- Sales experience in the life science market, ideally in consumable sales, with knowledge of sample management.
- Competence in demonstrating instrumentation and articulating sample‑solution workflows.
- Proven ability to work to a target and manage time effectively to achieve company goals.
- Determined, self‑motivated and enthusiastic, able to convey technical information.
- Excellent awareness of the laboratory marketplace, monitoring competitor activity and market trends.
- Full and clean UK driver’s licence.
