Veterinary Receptionist

Salary: £12.33 per hour

Location:
Village Vet (Milton, Longstanton, Cottenham, Royston and Whittlesford)

Job Type: Part-time

Hours: On average this is 35 hours per week worked out over a 4 week period; however due to the nature of the role you may work shorter hours one week and longer the next.

Village Vet Cambridge have a fantastic opportunity for a Float Client Care Assistant for our Cambridgeshire veterinary practices!

Your role and responsibilities
  • You will be the front of house, welcoming clients and their pets into the branches. Be efficient, pleasant and courteous to clients and their animals at all times.
  • Manage and deal with appointment bookings in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Answer and make calls to veterinary practices, insurance companies and clients with a high level of customer service.
  • Support the business with a range of administrative duties.
  • Have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Able to work well in a fast‑paced environment and still maintain a high level of customer service while completing all tasks to a high standard.
  • Show awareness of classname within the practice and follow up with clients for outstanding payments.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience dealing with customers in a customer‑facing role.
  • Previous veterinary experience is desirable but not essential.
  • A proactive, positive attitude.
  • Adapt well to learning a new system if no prior experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly motivated to provide excellent service to clients and the practice.
  • Works well within a team and is a positive member of the team.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace under pressure, including lone working and managing own workload when the branch runs at a slower pace.
  • Professional approach to work.
  • Excellent administration, organisational and time‑management skills with careful attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills – Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
