We’re looking for an experienced Children’s Home Manager (Registered Manager) for an Ofsted regulated Children’s Residential Home in March, Cambridgeshire. This is an established home that has been running for nearly 3 years, with previous positive reports from Ofsted but more recently they’ve faced some challenges so we’re looking for a strong Registered Manager who has a talent for improving services and bringing them into full compliance.
They specialise in supporting young people with learning disabilities, so ideally, you’ll have experience of meeting the needs of people with Learning Disabilities.
When joining as the Registered Manager you’ll focus on:
* Ensuring that systems and processes are robust, understood and followed by all staff and ensure that compliance with Ofsted standards is maintained,
* Ensuring that staff training is all up to date
* Working better with placing authorities in ensuring the needs of children moving into home can be met, whilst considering the young people already living in the home.
* Build strong and effective relations with Ofsted
* Represent the company to all outside agencies – regulators, commissioners, social workers and other professionals involved in the care of the children and young people,
and most importantly ensure that a safe and nurturing environment is provided to meet the needs of the young people.
What we’re looking for:
* It’s absolutely essential that you have at least 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years of managing within Children’s Residential Care – so either as a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager. This is to meet Ofsted requirements.
* We will consider a really strong Deputy who’s had exposure to home management tasks; however this role will be most suited to an experienced Registered Children’s Home Manager who is skilled in compliance, has strong and effective leadership skills and enjoys the challenge of improving struggling services.
* You’ll need to demonstrate a passion for working with young people and ensuring that they have a positive experience.
* You should be qualified to QCF level 5 or be working towards.
