TR Expert by Experience at CPFT.

We are seeking individuals with lived experience of Mental Health, Learning Disability and/or Autism (MHLDA) inpatient settings, or those who have supported someone as a carer or advocate. This role is not suitable for anyone currently receiving inpatient care.

You will join Care, Education and Treatment Review (C(E)
TR) panels as an Expert by Experience (EbyE), working alongside Clinical Reviewers and the Delegated Chair to review a person’s care, education (if under 18) and treatment in hospital settings. Your insight may come from personal experience as someone with a learning disability and/or autism, or as a family member or carer for someone who uses services, where the system is challenged by complex care needs.

Experts by Experience bring a vital perspective to ensure reviews reflect lived experience, promote accessibility and reasonable adjustments, support communication with the person and family, and uphold equality, diversity and human rights.

Reviews take place over one day, with some preparation beforehand. After the review, you will help check the final report for accuracy. Ongoing involvement is not expected.

You will not have employee status.

• Participate in C(E)
  TR panel reviews.
• Collaborate with Clinical Reviewers and the Delegated Chair.
• Provide lived experience perspective on care, education and treatment.
• Assist in checking the final review report for accuracy.

• Lived experience of Mental Health, Learning Disability and/or Autism (MHLDA) inpatient settings, or supporting a loved one as a carer or advocate.
• Not currently receiving inpatient care.

• Key lines of enquiry (KLOE) and subsequent recommendations.
• One-day panel review with preparation only; no ongoing commitment required.
