Position: CFO for Single-Family Office, Agreus Group Agreus Group

About the job:

An exciting and exclusive opportunity has become available with an Embedded Family Office looking to take the next step in their professionalisation into a stand‑alone Single‑Family Office. As such, they are looking for an experienced CFO/COO to join their team in Cambridge, with expectations of 3 days a week in the office.

This is a key, strategic hire for the Family and within this role, you will be responsible for private and corporate financial management, liaising with trusts, investment reporting, playing an active role in any acquisition/sale projects and more.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include but are not limited to:

Financial Management

  • Prepare statutory accounts
  • Prepare company financial reports/budget
  • Manage tax compliance, corporation tax returns and VAT compliance
  • Accounting (oversee outsourced accounting/payroll)
  • Liaise with Auditors/Tax advisors
  • Prepare financial and property information to external providers
  • Maintain relationships with external service providers

Legal/Administrative

  • Company secretary requirements
  • IT administration
  • Assume a Director role within the operating
  • Involvement with Family trusts, including structure, administration and investment policies.
  • Coordinate with family shareholders
  • Hold an active role within the Family charitable trust
  • Engage with family members on subjects including: custodianship, compliance, etc.

Property Investment/Management

  • Coordinate/review due diligence and investment appraisal for property acquisitions
  • Coordinate with legal teams on property purchases
  • Input into the board investment review committee
  • Annual asset review

    Investment

    • Reporting on the performance of the Family’s investment portfolio.
    • Provide support and education to family members
    Requirements:
    • Well‑qualified, experienced finance professional (ACA/ACCA)
    • A strong ability to work with legal partners, reviewing and commenting on agreements from a commercial perspective.
    • Broad‑based portfolio of previous experience demonstrating ability to manage many tasks in different areas simultaneously.
    • Ability to prioritise and maintain a balanced perspective whilst identifying key elements in decision processes, risks and opportunities.

    Remuneration will be commensurate with the duties and demands of the role and the candidate’s experience.
