MLC Partners are pleased to be supporting a large and respected NHS Foundation Trust in their search for a Senior Financial Accountant to join their established finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented finance professional who is passionate about delivering excellence in financial reporting, governance, and control — all while benefiting from the flexibility of a fully remote role.

About the Role As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Trust’s statutory and regulatory financial reporting. You will ensure the integrity of the Trust’s financial ledgers, lead on elements of the month-end and year-end processes, and provide high-quality financial insight and advice to senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading on the preparation of statutory accounts and external financial reports. Managing the year-end process and liaising with external auditors. Maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring compliance with NHS and accounting standards. Producing accurate and timely monthly financial statements. Providing technical accounting support and guidance across the finance team. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function. About You You will be a proactive, qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with strong technical accounting skills and a solid understanding of NHS or public sector finance.

You’ll be confident in managing competing priorities and comfortable operating autonomously in a remote environment. Essential skills and experience: CCAB or CIMA qualified (or equivalent). Min. 1 Year post-qualification experience in financial accounting or management accounting. Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting systems. Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills. A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality outcomes.

Why Join This Trust? Hybrid working, offering genuine flexibility. A collaborative and supportive finance team culture. Opportunities for ongoing professional development and career progression. Comprehensive NHS benefits, including pension and annual leave entitlements.
